Fresh ahi tuna cubes marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil and green onions, served over warm rice.

Fresh from the boat

Poke is Hawaii’s original fast food — sushi-grade ahi tossed with soy, sesame, and limu, served simply over rice.

Step by stepInstructions

  1. Whisk the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and ginger in a bowl.
  2. Add the tuna and green onions and toss gently; marinate 10-15 minutes in the fridge.
  3. Divide the warm rice between bowls.
  4. Pile the poke over the rice with avocado, if using.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, furikake, and red pepper flakes, and serve.

💡 Chef tips & storage

Use sushi-grade ahi and keep everything cold. Poke is best eaten within an hour of mixing — the fish 'cooks' in the marinade.
