Frito pie casserole with corn chips, beef chili, melted cheese and toppings

Frito pie casserole takes the Texas ballpark classic and turns it into a family-sized bake — layers of Fritos, chili, and melted cheese baked until bubbling, then topped with onions and jalapeños. It’s the easiest dinner that everyone loves.

Chef Emily presents Frito Pie Casserole

The family-sized Frito pie

Layers of Fritos, chili, and melted cheese baked until bubbling — Frito pie, casserole style.

Step by stepInstructions

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread half the Fritos in the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish. Top with half the chili and half the cheese.
  3. Repeat the layers, finishing with cheese.
  4. Bake 20 minutes until hot and bubbling.
  5. Top with the remaining Fritos, onion, jalapeños, and cilantro. Serve with sour cream.

💡 Chef tips & storage

Reserve some Fritos for the top so they stay crunchy. Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before scooping.
