Jalapeño poppers — fresh jalapeños stuffed with creamy cheese and wrapped in bacon

Jalapeño poppers are the Texas appetizer that disappeared at every game-day party — fresh jalapeños stuffed with creamy cheese, wrapped in bacon, and baked until the bacon crisps and the peppers soften. Spicy, creamy, salty, and completely addictive.

Chef Emily presents Jalapeno Poppers

The game-day favorite

Fresh jalapeños stuffed with creamy cheese, wrapped in bacon, and baked until crisp — the classic Texas popper.

Step by stepInstructions

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Mix the cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  4. Wrap each stuffed half with half a slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick.
  5. Bake 20-25 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the filling is bubbly. Serve warm.

💡 Chef tips & storage

Wear gloves when seeding the jalapeños. For less heat, remove the seeds and ribs completely; for more, leave a few seeds in. Par-cook the bacon slightly so it crisps without burning the peppers.
