Rødgrød med Fløde is Denmark’s classic summer dessert: a thick, ruby-red pudding of stewed red berries, lightly sweetened and thickened until it just holds its shape, served chilled with cold cream poured over the top.
The name is famously hard for non-Danes to pronounce, which the Danes find endlessly amusing. It is at its best in berry season, made with whatever is reddest and ripest — currants, raspberries or strawberries.
